How GREAT is this retro Vespa? As soon as I climbed aboard I was no longer in the show room of a local scooter dealer, before school pick up, on a cloudy 10 degree day in Canberra but instead cruising the back streets of Milan on a balmy summer evening wearing Prada.. If only! Today I dropped my partner off at this scooter shop to choose a more sensible scooter for himself than those shown here. Despite the obvious benefits to our budget, fitness levels and of course the environment over the last five years, we can no longer stand the strain of being a one car family and have decided a scooter could be the compromise. In the beginning I took some convincing, safety issues being my main concern. But once I got inside the showroom I couldn't resist fantasising about some completely unnecessary, unaffordable spending on a second superfluous scooter. I had not imagined how good they would feel to sit on and I'm not just talking about the seat. Despite the uninspiring surroundings I was filled with an immediate sense of freedom and possibility (read - mid life crisis). Hmmmm I wonder how many broken toys, stained cardigans and VHS movies I will need to sell on ebay before I can afford the little cream and blue one....

The cream & blue one is delicious! Good luck with saving up your pennies towards it!
Oh my - I need one although I wouldn't pull the look together nearly as well as you! I think you have found the perfect accessory.. x
So great! So funny.....selling this and that :).
woah, this is one step up from a wool addiction!!
i'm with u re the safety issue of bikes, but this looks really cool!
I love vespas. A friend of mine in London had one and I would sometimes ride on the back of it with her - it was great. Start selling, they are a wonderful adiction.
that is too funny- it looks so chic- I have a friend in Toronto who just got a cherry red one and she loves hers-
So cool. You have to have one. x
